In the Governor Siminalayi Fubara camp, there are a lot of people who are good at writing complaints to anti-corruption agencies. The FCT Minister and former governor of Rivers State, Hon. Nyesom Wike, has noticed this, citing petitions against former Transportation Minister Rotimi Amaechi as an example. He issued a challenge to those who were critical of him to do the same, if they felt it was necessary. He went on to say that he is not immune and that petitions may be filed against him. Expressing his displeasure about the running of governance in Rivers state, he recounted his tenure as governor and the successful legal battle he led to reclaim Imo state’s oil wells, which resulted in a favorable Supreme Court ruling. He emphasized that Imo state now benefits from the revenue generated from these oil wells since his departure.

He said in a live coverage by Channels TV, ‘When I was governor, I took Imo state to Supreme Court for our Oil Wells that were taken and we defeated them at the Supreme Court. Today, Imo state is collecting the money because I’m not there. It’s not about Wike having this and that, you can also have your own.

I don’t have immunity and you can petition me. After all, most of them are experts in writing petitions to EFCC. They were the ones who wrote petition against Amaechi to EFCC, let them write against me.”
