Shettima emphasised the administration’s proactive measures aimed at improving residents’ lives while speaking to a team from the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) at the State House in Abuja.

Shettima addressed the dual nature of the country’s demographic challenge, recognizing the necessity of converting sheer numbers into a qualitative advantage. He emphasized the urgent need for policies that not only address population growth but also improve the quality of life and economic opportunities for individuals.

Praising the efforts of the UNFPA and its continued partnership with Nigeria, Shettima commended the organization for its ongoing support, particularly noting the legacy of its late executive director, Babatunde Osotimehin. The Vice President expressed appreciation for the agency’s role in addressing population and development challenges in Nigeria, reinforcing the administration’s dedication to leveraging international collaboration for national benefit.
