According to Prince Adebayo Adewole: N615,000 minimum wage means to employ 1 million workers at minimum level will cost N615bn

Former SDP presidential candidate Prince Adebayo Adewole has made some comments in response to the Nigerian Labour Congress’s call for a 615 thousand naira minimum wage rise. CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>

Adewole emphasized in a video posted on YouTube by Arise TV how government employees used to receive advantages like housing, healthcare, education, and transportation, which lessened their financial burden.

However, Adewole explained that a 615 thousand naira minimum wage for just a million workers would cost the government a staggering 615 billion naira, which is not feasible. He emphasized that the government cannot simply print more money and that such a high wage increase would have negative effect on the economy
