According to Obi “I challenge anyone to show me where the demolished structures were not encroaching on the road”

Former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi has taken to social media to debunk the claims of Minister for Works, Dave Umahi that he pulled down the buildings of people in Anambra State without reimbursing them for their losses during his time as Anambra State governor.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>

And so Peter Obi in response to such criticisms, took to his official X account to state that it has come to his attention and he strongly denounce the distortion of facts surrounding his actions and statements during his time as Anambra State governor, particularly concerning the ongoing demolitions for the construction of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal highway.

According to the businessman, he made it abundantly clear that all structures obstructing existing roads and lacking approval be removed, adding that he only initiated removal of such structures when construction had already commenced.

Peter Obi then stated that;

“I challenge anyone to verify and show me where the demolished structures on the existing roads or ongoing businesses were not encroaching on the road and built without government approval while I served as governor.”

The former presidential candidate then revealed that he decisively demolished the Onitsha North local government headquarters situated on the existing stadium, adding that he relocated such headquarters and built a brand new structure for the local government office away from the stadium.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
