Egitanghan G resorted to social media to share his grief and resolve after expressing his profound displeasure at what he considered to be “rubbish comments” made about his allies. The soldier addressed his fellow Niger Delta citizens personally in a moving video that he posted on his TikTok account, asking people to honor the sacrifices made by soldiers while performing their duties.
“With a heavy heart, I read the disparaging remarks about our fallen soldiers from Delta State,” Egitanghan G lamented in pidgin English. “I have personally witnessed the challenges faced by soldiers in service to our country. I’ve spent years fighting in Maiduguri, witnessing the sacrifices made by soldiers from various regions to protect their homeland.”
The tragic incident, which claimed the lives of a Nigerian Army commander, three officers, and 12 soldiers serving with the 181 Amphibious Battalion, occurred during a peacekeeping mission in Bomadi Local Government.
