Following a missile strike in Ukraine, Russia threatens Washington with a nuclear warning.

Ukraine used U.S.-supplied ATACMS missiles for the first time in a high-profile missile assault on Russian territory on Tuesday, according to the Reuters story. About 110 kilometers inside Russia, in the Bryansk region, a military installation was the target of the strike. Russia reported intercepting five of the six missiles, with one causing moderate damage, while Ukraine said it struck an armaments storage, causing secondary explosions.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>

This marked a significant escalation in the 1,000-day-long war, following approval from U.S. President Joe Biden for Ukraine to use ATACMS. These are the longest-range missiles provided by the U.S. so far, with a range of up to 300 kilometers.

While shorter than Russia’s hypersonic Kinzhal missiles, the weapons represent a new capability for Ukraine to strike deep into Russian territory.

Moscow condemned the attack, accusing Washington of becoming a direct participant in the war. Russian officials argued that Ukraine could not operate these advanced systems without U.S. guidance.

In response, President Vladimir Putin updated Russia’s nuclear doctrine, lowering the threshold for using atomic weapons in defense of its territorial integrity.

Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskiy dismissed Russia’s rhetoric, accusing Putin of prioritizing war over peace. “On this day, they presented a nuclear strategy, not a peace strategy. Putin wants war,” Zelenskiy said.

Military experts suggest that while the use of U.S. missiles signals a tactical advance for Ukraine, it may come too late to shift the broader trajectory of the war.

The attack comes as the U.S. prepares for a potential change in leadership, with President Biden nearing the end of his term and doubts growing over future Western support.

Despite this, Zelenskiy appears determined to use every available tool to pressure Russia in hopes of regaining occupied territory and ending the war.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
