I Will Reduce Fuel Price – Tinubu

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reaffirmed his commitment to alleviating the economic burden on Nigerians by addressing the rising cost of fuel. His remarks come amid widespread concerns over the high cost of living since the removal of fuel subsidies earlier this year.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>

“We understand the difficulties faced by Nigerians, and I assure you that we are working tirelessly to ensure relief. Reducing the cost of fuel is a priority for my administration,” Tinubu said. He highlighted that the government is in talks with industry stakeholders and global partners to create sustainable strategies for price stabilization.

The president acknowledged the challenges introduced by the subsidy removal but defended the decision as a necessary step to save the economy from collapse. He argued that the funds previously allocated to fuel subsidies would now be redirected towards critical infrastructure projects, education, and healthcare. However, Tinubu admitted that the transition has not been without its difficulties.

“We knew the decision to remove subsidies would be tough, but we also knew it was unsustainable. What matters now is how we cushion the effects and ensure that Nigerians see tangible benefits in the long run,” he added.

INEC Restores Festus As LP’s Ondo Candidate

On November 16, 2024, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) reinstated Olorunfemi Ayodele Festus as the Labour Party’s candidate for the Ondo State governorship election. This decision followed a Court of Appeal ruling that overturned a Federal High Court judgment, which had previously ordered INEC to accept Olusola Ebiseni as the LP candidate. The Court of Appeal determined the lower court lacked jurisdiction. In compliance with the ruling, INEC updated its records, and Festus’s name was restored and published on the commission’s website.
