The Nation reports that General AbdulSalami Abubakar, a former military leader, has received a warning from The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) over his recent comments regarding Nigeria’s economic challenges, which he described as “getting out of control.” Prof. Ishaq Akintola, the founder of MURIC, expressed concern over Abubakar’s choice of words, suggesting that they could spark unrest among the public. Akintola also took issue with Abubakar’s comments that seemed to encourage protests, reminding everyone of the turmoil caused by past demonstrations like the #EndBadGovernance movement.
