Lookman described the feeling of being nominated as “special” and was thrilled to be recognized among the world’s best players. “It’s a special, special feeling man. I was on a bus on the way back from training and I saw a post that I’d been nominated for the Ballon d’Or and I was a bit surprised,” he said on the Counter Attack Podcast.

The Atalanta man also shared the news with his national teammate, Calvin Bassey, who was overjoyed and ecstatic about Lookman’s nomination. “Obviously, I am in a room with Calvin Bassey and when I told him, he was just jumping up and down. He was very happy and was like ‘you don’t really understand’,” Lookman said.

Lookman’s nomination made him the 8th Nigerian footballer to be nominated for the prestigious award. He continued his fine form for the Super Eagles during the just-concluded International break, scoring a brace in Nigeria’s win over Benin Republic.

The recognition is a testament to Lookman’s hard work and dedication to his craft, and he will be hoping to continue performing at a high level and strive for even greater success.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
