Fanwo rejected the EFCC’s claims, calling them baseless and the product of an organized disinformation campaign. He underlined that the former governor is not attempting to avoid arrest and cited a state high court injunction that shields Bello from harassment by the anti-graft agency.

Fanwo criticized the EFCC’s allegations, describing them as laughable and questioning the agency’s certainty about Bello’s whereabouts. He defended Governor Ododo as a law-abiding leader who respects the rule of law and the Constitution. Fanwo categorically stated that Governor Ododo did not assist in Bello’s departure from his residence, emphasizing that the EFCC’s claims are misinformation aimed at furthering their objectives. He reiterated that Bello is not evading anyone and emphasized the existing court injunction protecting his fundamental rights.

In an interview with Channels TV, Fanwo expressed disappointment with the EFCC’s actions and emphasized Governor Ododo’s commitment to upholding the law and respecting legal processes.
