Despite the meager pay that troops get, retired military officer Captain Sadeeq Shehu [rtd] has claimed that people don’t join the military only for financial gain. He maintained that it is a sign of a soldier’s devotion motivated by patriotism to choose to risk all for a very meager monthly salary, such as N50,000.
