Speaking to reporters following a meeting behind closed doors in Abuja, Secretary of the Katsina Elders’ Forum Aliyu Mohammed urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to concentrate on addressing the security issues facing the North and Abuja instead of moving vital departments that support the country’s economy from Abuja to the South.
According to the report by Sahara Reporters, he said, “We have never known anything like kidnapping in Abuja until Wike came into Abuja as a Minister.”
In addition to that, he said, “Despite the insecurity situation in the North, Tinubu is not making any effort to curb the insecurity and is moving all these departments.”
Abuja has been in the news for some time now following the rising cases of kidnapping there. In recent times, several people have been kidnapped by armed bandits for ransom, and some have been killed by the bandits over failure or delay by their family members to pay ransom for their release.
There have been calls on the security agencies and the FCT Minister to double intensify their efforts to fight these criminal elements and restore stability in the FCT.
