Igbe made this statement in a recent interview with Silverbird TV while speaking about the defection of 25 lawmakers from PDP to APC in Rivers State. Igbe also argued that when voters cast their ballots, they are essentially supporting a political party, not an individual, therefore, if an official leaves the party they were elected under, the vote is no longer considered the individual’s, as it was granted to the party.
In Igbe’s words: “Nyesom Wike said if you leave your party to another party you must leave your seat. The vote was not given to an individual, the vote was given to a party.
