Stressing the importance of capable leadership, Obi promised the party would adjust to its new position as the main opposition party in Nigeria.

In his address to the problems facing the country, Obi expressed alarm over the ongoing absence of security and tranquility and noted the alarming rise in violent crime.

According to The Nation, he urged the Federal Government to take decisive action to bring perpetrators to justice and prevent future occurrences.

Turning to economic issues, Obi highlighted the urgent need for a turnaround, citing rising unemployment, inflation, poverty, and inequality.

He stressed the importance of good governance and accountable leadership for addressing these socio-economic challenges.

Obi identified the undermining of national institutions and the concentration of state affairs in the hands of a few as a fundamental threat to democracy.

Calling for a halt to such practices, he asserted that Nigeria must uphold the principles of an inclusive and sustainable society.
