Obasanjo stated that President Tinubu’s administration has not yet figured out how to manage the nation’s economy in a way that will draw investors and encourage them to start investing, according to a Daily Trust article that was published on Sunday. In a statement delivered from the capital of Ogun State, Abeokuta, by his media aide Kehinde Akinyemi, Obasanjo listed three significant moves made by President Bola Tinubu. He pointed out that the national economy and Nigerians were living in poverty as a result of two of the policies.

The withdrawal of the fuel subsidy, the exchange rate, and his handling of the military coup in the Niger Republic, he claimed, are the three decisions.

He said, “Today, the government has taken three decisions, two of which are necessary but wrongly implemented and have led to the impoverization of the economy and Nigerians. These are removal of subsidy, closing the gap between black market and official rates of exchange, and the third is dealing with a military coup in Niger Republic.”

According to the former President, hard work and sweat are the only ways to advance the economy. He claimed that the economy defies military instructions and that, with proper management, the general public would see light at the end of the tunnel within the next two years.

He added, “It requires a change of characteristics, attributes and attitude by the leadership at all levels to gain the confidence and trust of investors who have alternatives.”CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
