In the letter he shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Friday, Momodu went down memory lane, saying that when he was a young journalist, Tinubu was the delight of everyone. He said that his fight for the June 12, 1993, presidential election brought out the best in Tinubu, and that he (Tinubu) spent his time and resources to fight the military regime.

He said that their years in exile were spent in constant fear until they finally returned to Nigeria in 1998.

Momodu said that following their return to the country, Tinubu contested election as the governor of Lagos State in 1999 and won, and that since then, Tinubu has been in charge of the state.

He said that Tinubu has been president of Lagos for the past 24 years before he finally won the election as the President of Nigeria.

He said, “You spent money and time fighting the military. Our exile years were lived in constant fear and trepidation.

“Fast forward, sir. We returned to Nigeria in 1998. You contested the Lagos State governorship election in 1999, and pronto, you won. Since then, you have been in absolute control of a state described as the California of Africa, and possibly the sixth richest economy in Africa.

“Lagos is a country on its own. I’m just trying to let you know that you’ve been a President in Lagos for 24 years before becoming the President of Nigeria.”

Momodu said that unfortunately, things have not been easy in the country since Tinubu became the President, and claimed that Tinubu is the cause of the hardship that Nigerians are facing.

He urged the President not to stop the protesters who are planning to hit the streets to demonstrate against the economic hardship in the country.

He said that instead of stopping the protesters, the President should consult with his friends in the civil societies on how to handle the issue.

The planned protest tagged #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria has been gaining momentum across the country, and the government has been trying to persuade the protesters not to embark on the protest.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
