Wike’s Sin Is His Unalloyed Support For Tinubu And His Giant Strides In FCT – According to Tony Okocha

The Nation reported that Chief George, in his letter to President Tinubu, labeled Wike’s comments during a PDP congress in Rivers State as reckless and harmful to national security. Wike had remarked, “I pity those governors because I will put fire in their states.”

In response, George expressed concern over Wike’s statements, calling them “callous, mischievous, unacceptable, and clearly undermining our democracy and national security.”

He further noted that Wike’s behavior was unbecoming of a high-ranking public official, arguing that “Chief Wike should be made to realize the importance of the high office he holds and the responsibility expected of him by the Nigerian State.”

Tony Okocha, however, rebuked George’s criticisms, accusing him of bias. Okocha stated, “What is His Excellency’s interest in PDP matters when he is a staunch member of the APC?”

“What is the color of the Elders Forum the respected statesman signed on their behalf? Are they elders of the PDP or the APC?” He questioned the legitimacy of George’s involvement in PDP affairs, noting that George is an APC member and, therefore, has no place in meddling with PDP issues.

Okocha further criticized George’s apparent ethnic bias and personal motivations in attacking Wike. He argued that George’s real agenda was to discredit Wike due to his growing influence within the FCT and his unwavering loyalty to President Tinubu.

He said, “Chief Wike’s sin is his unalloyed support for Mr. President and the public acknowledgment of his giant strides in the FCT. This has attracted jealousy and envy.”

Moreover, Okocha highlighted Wike’s accomplishments in Rivers State, emphasizing that the former governor had always acted in the state’s best interest.

“Let me state unequivocally that former Governor Nyesom Wike is Pan-Rivers and has proved this in both words and actions,” he remarked.

Okocha credited Wike with the development of riverine areas, adding that Wike “executed unprecedented development projects in the riverine areas of the state, which have linked up communities.”

He warned George and his group of elders not to “throw away the baby with the bathwater,” urging them to be mindful of the consequences of their actions.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
