Following a meeting in Abuja on Monday, the leaders stood and declared that Wike remained undistracted in his role as Minister of the Federal Capital Territory and that he had left his successor in Rivers, Governor Siminalayi Fubara, to manage the state independently.
Additionally, they attacked pockets of organized resistance to the minister’s excellent job in Abuja, claiming that individuals who had previously exploited the area would like for things to stay as they are, which would be detrimental to the populace.
They contend that one of President Bola Tinubu’s greatest choices for the present government was to select Wike, saying the FCT Minister had accomplished in nine months what some previous ministers had not been able to accomplish in eight years.
They said, “Wike has done a lot in just nine months. We know that there are people who want to distract him. But he has ignored them. He is not even bothered about the crisis in Rivers State. He’s busy with developing Abuja.”
“In nine months as FCT Minister, he has transformed the territory. We want to assure him that we are with him and that we stand behind him to succeed as Minister.”
