Why I didn’t vote for Vinicius to win the Balon D’Or, Journalist

 

 

Vinicius Junior, a winger for Le Selecao and Real Madrid, is not a credible Balon D’Or candidate, according to highly regarded journalist Bruno Porzio. This comes after the French football award body’s unexpected nomination of Rodri of Spain and Manchester City as the finest player of the past year sparked an outcry in the media.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>

The award ceremony which held at Paris on the night of the 28th October, 2024 was expected by the football communit to decide in favour of the electric Brazilian winger who had a meritable 2023/24 season until the early morning of that day when media releases reported a U-turn in the body’s decision.

Many football fans opined that the award was taken from Vinicius not because of Rodri’s footballing merits or trophies but on Vinicius’ assumed on-field classlessness, clash with players and refrees, Florentino Perez’s waning influence on the award body and the 4-0 thrashing at the  Bernabeu by arch rivals, Barcelona.

However, Porzio, one of the reputable journalists favoured with the responsibility of voting at the prestigious award has claimed Vinicius is not a complete player and lacks the mojo of deciding big matches in big moments. According to him:

 

 

“I do NOT consider Vinicius Jr a DECISIVE player in terms of play. He impacts the pitch in a small area, therefore I think he is not complete player and is not TOP 10 in Europe.
