What’s Stopping Great Britain From Standing Up For Her Renditioned Citizen Nnamdi Kanu—According to Aloy Ejimakor

Lead attorney for the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, Aloy Ejimakor, recently made a statement in which he urged Britain to oppose the portrayal of the Biafra agitator, as reported by DAILY POST. This call was made in reaction to reports from American politicians asking the State Department to get Tigran Gambaryan, the head of Financial Crime Compliance at Binance, released.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>

Gambaryan was arrested on allegations of money laundering and tax evasion alongside his colleague, Nadeem Anjarwalla.

Nigerian authorities dropped the tax evasion charges in June, but the money laundering case is still ongoing.

U.S. lawmakers claim Gambaryan’s detention has become a hostage situation.

They cite concerns over his worsening health and human rights violations.

They demanded the immediate release of Gambaryan and urged the U.S. government to declare him “wrongfully detained by a foreign government.”

Ejimakor reacted to this development by posting on his official X account.

“In 1984, Great Britain treated Buhari’s attempt to rendition Umaru Dikko as a hostage case. Now, US is doing the same for its citizen. What’s stopping Great Britain from standing up for her renditioned citizen: MAZI NNAMDI KANU? Whither the ‘greatness’ in Great Britain? #FreeMNK,” he said.

Ejimakor’s statement draws a comparison between the current U.S. efforts and a historical incident involving the British government.

He referenced the 1984 attempt by Nigerian authorities to kidnap and return Umaru Dikko to Nigeria, which the British treated as a hostage situation.

Ejimakor questions why Britain is not taking similar action for Nnamdi Kanu, a British citizen, who was allegedly renditioned from Kenya to Nigeria in 2021.

Kanu faces charges of terrorism and treasonable felony in Nigeria, but his supporters argue that his transfer to Nigeria was illegal.

The call from Ejimakor aims to put pressure on Britain to intervene in Kanu’s case, citing the need for consistency in the protection of its citizens’ rights abroad.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
