In an interview with Channels TV, Bwala asserted that these religious leaders used their support for Peter Obi as a means to influence the election outcome against Atiku. He said they didn’t genuinely support Obi but strategically aligned with him to prevent Atiku from winning the presidency
In Bwala’s words: “What Peter Obi didn’t know is that some Christian leaders supported him to reduce votes Atiku could have gotten to emerge as president. Why did I say that? Immediately after the election, these same leaders that were attacking policy issues during Buhari’s tenure, have you heard them for one day speaking against the removal of fuel subsidy or floating of naira?
