While reacting, Senator Shehu Sani made it known that the federal government earlier told Nigerians that fuel subsidy has been removed, and now the same federal government announced that they are using ₦5.4 trillion to subsidise fuel. Shehu Sani went on and made it known that he doesn’t understand the algebraic and quadratic equations.

Senator Shehu Sani made this disclosure in a post he made on his official X handle, while reacting to the recent statement that was made by the federal government.

He wrote: “We are not paying subsidy and we are paying N5.4trillion subsidy; I really don’t understand this algebraic, linear or quadratic equation.”

Recall that it was recently reported that the Minister of Finance Mr Wale Edun, claimed that the Federal Government’s expenditure on fuel subsidy is expected to reach ₦5.4 trillion by the end of 2024.
