According to the Daily Post, Kashim Shettima, the vice president of Nigeria, has criticized Kemi Badenoch, the head of the UK Conservative Party, for her previous criticisms of Nigeria, claiming that her personal decision to disparage the nation cannot lessen its importance on a global scale. The former Governor of Borno State said:
“Kemi Badenoch, the leader of the British Labour or Conservative Party. We are proud of her in spite of her efforts at denigrating her nation of origin.
“She is entitled to her own opinions; she has even every right to remove the Kemi from her name but that does not change the fact that the greatest black nation on earth is the nation called Nigeria.”
Badenoch, of Nigerian heritage, rose to prominence in UK politics, eventually becoming Conservative Party leader in November 2024.
However, attempts by Nigeria’s Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) to engage her reportedly went unanswered, according to NIDCOM Chair Abike Dabiri-Erewa.
Shettima went on to highlight Nigeria’s vast potential and influence, emphasizing its demographic and cultural prominence. “One out of every three, four black men is a Nigerian,” he declared. “By 2050, Nigeria will support the United States and will be the third most populous nation on earth.”CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
