Vigilante, They Arrived At A Farm And Decided To Stop And Roast Maize, The Herder Shot And Killed One

 

Vigilante Adamu related a recent instance in the Kwali Area hamlet of Awawa, where a herder successfully stopped an effort to steal animals. The herder, who had been trailing the thieves, seized the opportunity and shot one of the hoodlums, killing him instantly. The incident occurred on a Saturday, and Adamu confirmed that the hoodlums were attempting to escape with stolen cows, unaware that the herder was hot on their heels, armed with a gun.

He reported that vigilantes were informed about the incident on Monday and promptly responded by searching the bush, where they found the decomposing body of one of the criminals. The other suspect was apprehended and sustained machete wounds before being handed over to the police.

As reported by The Daily Trust on Wednesday, the vigilante, Adamu, said, “The hoodlums were escaping with some cows, not knowing that one of the herders was trailing them with a gun. When they arrived at a farm and decided to stop and roast maize, the herder shot and killed one of them.”

In a similar incident, a suspected cattle rustler was fatally shot in Rugan Madaki, near Achido village, in the Abaji Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The individual was reportedly attempting to steal cows when they were confronted and shot dead.
