Umar Sani: Wike Said He Wrote To National Chairman For Approval. NEC Was Not Aware Of That Approval

Umar Sani has accused Nyesom Wike of attempting to weaken the main opposition party in order to get ready for the 2027 elections, amid the growing political strain already present in the PDP.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>

Sani claims that Wike’s actions are calculated to help the incumbent president, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and secure his reelection.

This charge came after Wike disclosed that the national chairman had given him permission to serve in the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration, allegedly avoiding the National Working Committee and the NEC and creating issues within the PDP.

Many in the party were only aware of Wike’s decision to collaborate with the APC after he was appointed. Wike’s recent public remarks have angered the PDP, but there is no denying that he has the right to work for the good of the nation.

He has been outspoken about his support for Tinubu’s policies and his pledge to back him in 2027, which have sparked concerns that Wike is actively trying to dismantle the PDP in order to make it weaker ahead of the upcoming presidential elections.

During an interview with TVC News, he stated, “Wike said he wrote to the national chairman, and the national chairman gave him approval. The national gave him approval, not the National Working Committee. The National Working Committee was not aware of that approval. NEC was not aware of that approval.”

“So it was done in secret, and it was when Wike announced that our party really knew that he even got approval to serve in an APC government.”

“Nevertheless, the APC has the right whatsoever to choose somebody from any opposition party and say, come and work in the interest of the country.”

“Nobody is arguing whether Wike is entitled or not entitled to work for Nigeria, but the argument is that Wike has already made some public statements that are very disturbing to the party.”

“One of them is that he said he stands on the Tinubu agenda. Number two, he said in 2027, he is going to support Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He wants to undermine the PDP, so that in 2027, he’ll make it easy for Tinubu.”CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
