“I just heard in the news that the federal government have decided to share 20 trucks of rice to almost all the states in the federation. In as much as on the face value, somebody may say that this is a very wonderful idea but it gives me concern, very strong concern. Does it actually mean that the people who are running this government do not know what they will do to fight poverty in the country? How can it be said that a country as rich as Nigeria that government is sharing rice to people”.
“Businesses are closing everywhere in the country, in almost all the states, businesses are closing down and this is because of the harsh economic reality that they have to battle with. Whatever business you are running in this country, you have to generate your own power because electricity up till today is still a very serious luxury. There’s no light anywhere, businesses are running on generators and we all know the cost of diesel. A government that is serious should be looking into how they can make businesses thrive in the country”.
“It is only when businesses are thriving that people are employed and that should be the way to fight poverty. They are so many professors of agriculture that we have in this country that are doing nothing, why can’t government give them a no interest loan for them to go into proper research”, Ugezu J Ugezu said and it stirred massive reactions from the general public.
