The match began with a frenetic pace, as AC Milan leveled the tie almost immediately. Malick Thiaw kept the ball alive at the far post, heading it back across goal, where former Feyenoord striker Santiago Giménez leaped to score, bringing the aggregate score to 1-1 within just a minute of kick-off.

Milan dominated possession in the first half, with João Félix coming closest to putting his side ahead when he struck a fierce shot that forced an impressive save from Feyenoord’s goalkeeper, Timon Wellenreuther. Despite Milan’s pressure, the Dutch side maintained their composure, defending resolutely against a barrage of attacks. Wellenreuther was again called into action when Rafael Leão broke free, but he denied the Milan forward at his near post.

The second half saw a turning point when Milan’s Theo Hernández received a second yellow card for diving in the penalty area, reducing the home side to ten men. With the advantage, Feyenoord took control of the match and found the breakthrough with just under 20 minutes remaining. Hugo Bueno, who was afforded time on the left, delivered a pinpoint cross to Julián Carranza, who powered a header into the net, sending Feyenoord ahead on the night and securing their progression in the tie.

Elsewhere, Bayern Munich secured their place in the last 16 with a dramatic 2-1 aggregate victory over Celtic, thanks to a last-gasp goal from Alphonso Davies. The match, held at the Allianz Arena, ended 1-1, but Bayern’s earlier 2-1 win in Glasgow proved decisive.

Celtic entered the match with a sense of urgency, needing to overcome a one-goal deficit. They started brightly, with Nicolas Kühn showcasing his attacking prowess. In a frantic three-minute spell in the first half, Celtic created three golden chances but failed to convert. Kühn’s initial attempt was cleared off the line by Bayern’s Raphaël Guerreiro, while a low cross into the box narrowly evaded Daizen Maeda, who could not make contact.

Bayern struggled to find their rhythm, yet they remained a constant threat. Michael Olise provided a dangerous cross for Serge Gnabry early on, but Celtic’s Alistair Johnston defended well. Just before halftime, Harry Kane rattled the crossbar, reminding Celtic that Bayern could strike at any moment.

The second half began with Bayern looking for an equalizer. However, after Kane was substituted at halftime, Bayern’s attacking threat diminished. Celtic capitalized on this, and a defensive error by Bayern allowed Kühn to score in the 65th minute, leveling the aggregate score at 2-2. The home side was rattled, and Celtic continued to press for a second goal.

Bayern’s goalkeeper, Manuel Neuer, faced relentless pressure as Celtic created more chances. Kasper Schmeichel, Celtic’s keeper, was equally impressive, making vital saves to deny Leon Goretzka and Joshua Kimmich. With the match heading toward extra time, Bayern looked to their substitutes for inspiration.

In a dramatic conclusion, Davies struck in the dying moments of the game. Following a powerful header from Goretzka, Schmeichel managed to parry the ball, but Davies was quickest to react, slotting home the rebound in the 94th minute. The goal shattered Celtic’s hopes of progressing and ensured Bayern’s advancement in the tournament.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
