Ucheibe of the Super Falcons celebrates her team’s victory over South Africa with heartfelt pictures with her father.

 

According to Soccernet.ng, the father of Super Falcons player Christy Ucheibe was ecstatic to see his daughter show off her football skills against Banyana Banyana at the MKO Abiola Stadium. The Nigerian Super Falcons secured a 1-0 victory against South Africa in the initial leg of the last round of qualifiers for the women’s football event at the 2024 Olympics. Throughout the match, the Falcons maintained pressure, with Uchenna Kanu posing challenges to the Bayana Bayana defense, skillfully thwarted by South African goalkeeper Kaylin Swart. However, Nigeria managed to breach South Africa’s defense in the 43rd minute when Noko Matlou fouled Ihezuo in the goal area, resulting in a penalty kick. Ajibade capitalized on the opportunity, scoring past Swart and giving the Falcons the lead. The team secured a crucial win, setting the stage for the return leg in Pretoria at Loftus Versfeld Stadium on April 9.

Ucheibe, who plays for Portuguese club Benfica, made her debut on the Nigerian national women’s team in 2023 at the FIFA Women’s World Cup. Following a victorious win, Ucheibe has taken to social media to share heartwarming pictures captured with her father after the game. Ucheibe shared these pictures in an Instagram post with a lovely caption which reads, “The prayer of a father and the dream of a daughter came to pass on the same day…All glory to God”.
