‘Those Sponsoring The Protest Have Not Told Us The Main Reason For The Protest’ -According to Gov Hope Uzodinma

 

Hope Uzodinma, the governor of Imo state, has said that it is premature for anyone to start protesting at this early point in the present government’s term, particularly since the protestors’ justifications haven’t been made apparent. He warned that without careful management and protection, this fragility could lead to broader instability. He questioned the rationale behind the proposed protests, stressing the need for clarity and caution, given the potential risks to national security. He concluded by advising well-meaning Nigerians to safeguard the country’s stability.

He said in an interview with Channels TV, ”Democracy is about the opinion of the people and protest is allowed in a democratic setting. But every protest must be reasonably conceived to be able to make political sense. It is too early at the time of this government for anyone to come out to say he wants to protest. First of all, those sponsoring the protest have not told us the main reason for the protest.

And secondly given the global situation. today and the insecurity in the country. We have a very fragile environment that is not managed and protected very well, it may collapse the entire country. So those who are going to protest, what is the reason for the protest? And if they have no reason for the protest, I advise that well meaning Nigerians should guide our country very jealously.
