Details of a conversation Obi Emelonye, a Nigerian director who filmed a film about Gen. Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (IBB), a former military leader, had with IBB about Gen. Mamman Vatsa’s death have been made public.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>

When Emelonye asked Babangida about Vatsa’s issue, the former military leader said that they had been boyhood friends and had gone a long way together. This was revealed in an exclusive interview with Jideonwo Chude on his well-liked show #WithChude.

Emelonye said that in military politics, knowing about a coup but failing to report it is considered just as serious as planning it. He said there was a coup plot against Babangida, and the plan was to kill him with his family and also destroy Dodan Barracks completely using fighter jets. He said that Vatsa knew of the plot but did not inform Babangida.

Speaking further, Emelonye said that Babangida told him that ordering Vatsa’s execution was the hardest decision he had ever made as a soldier.

In Emelonye’s words: “So there was a coup planned against IBB where they didn’t just want to come and kill him in Dodan barracks, they wanted to level Dodan barracks with fighter jets with his family involved. Mamman Vatsa caught wind of it but he didn’t tell his friend”.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
