APC national chairman Abdullahi Ganduje and the party were earlier prohibited from holding elective congresses for the Rivers chapter without the participation of the claimants in an ongoing legal matter by an ex parte decision issued by the Rivers State High Court in Port Harcourt.
However, the Okocha faction proceeded with the congress at their factional secretariat along the Port Harcourt-Aba Expressway.
According to Daily Post, the Chairman of the Congress Planning Committee dissolved the Caretaker Committee (CTC) to facilitate new leadership elections.
Key APC figures in attendance included South-South National Vice Chairman, Chief Victor Giadom, Chidi Wihioka, Ephraim Nwuzi, Magnus Abe, and Tony Okocha.
