The Kano State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, stated late Thursday night that personnel from the command had arrested a kidnapper who had kidnapped a four-year-old child and demanded a ransom of N3 million from her father. In a message put on his Facebook wall, the Police PRO revealed the event, stating that the kidnapper, identified as 23-year-old Safullahi Abba, was apprehended by members of the command’s Anti Kidnapping Squad.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
It was gathered that the police received a report from the father of the girl stating that his four-year-old daughter was missing and that he later received a call from an unknown person claiming to have kidnapped his daughter and demanding for a ransom of N3 million.
After receiving the report however, the squad swung into action and following intelligence-led investigation, the kidnapper was arrested at his hideout and he took the operatives to the place where he kept the girl who was also rescued unhurt.
The Police PRO wrote: “The suspect confessed to the crime and led detectives to where the victim was held hostage in Luran Village, Dawakin Kudu Local Government Area.
“The victim was rescued unhurt and taken to Murtala Muhammed Specialist Hospital, Kano, where she was examined and discharged in good health.”
He was said to have given more useful information to the police operatives and he is expected to be be charged to court upon the conclusion of the investigation.
