Suspect Confesses To Murder In Kogi:”I Already Had It in Mind That I Want To Use Damilola For Ritual”

Four suspects have been presented by the Kogi State Police Command in relation to the horrific death of 19-year-old Damilola Olowoyo, a first-year student at the Federal University Lokoja. The suspects, Jeremiah Paul, Emmanuel Otitoju, Banabas Olugbenga, and Ajayi Basit Ayomide, were reportedly captured and paraded before the police headquarters in Lokoja, according to the Daily Post. SP William Ovye Aya, the Police Public Relations Officer, claims that Jeremiah Paul, the main suspect, took Damilola to an isolated spot where he ritualistically slaughtered her.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>

Aya explained that a complaint was initially filed regarding Damilola’s disappearance, leading the police to launch an investigation.

“The Commissioner of Police assigned the matter to the State Intelligence Department, and with technical assistance from the Force Headquarters, we were able to apprehend Jeremiah Paul,” Aya stated.

During interrogation, Paul confessed to the crime, revealing that on September 4th, 2024, he met Damilola, pretended to like her, and lured her to an apartment where he drugged her with codeine-laced Sprite.

Once the drug took effect, Paul took her to an unfinished building, strangled her, and dismembered her body. He removed her eyes, lungs, liver, tongue, and parts of her buttocks, which he intended to use for a ritual. Before killing her, Paul demanded and collected a ransom of N400,000 from Damilola’s parents, pretending she had been kidnapped.

In his confession, Paul chillingly admitted, “I already had it in mind that I want to use Damilola for ritual. I bought codeine and Sprite, mixed it up, and gave it to her.” He further explained how he met a native doctor through TikTok, who provided him with the materials needed for the ritual.

Aya emphasized the importance of vigilance, warning students and parents to be cautious about who they associate with. “This act is inhuman. Imagine a 20-year-old boy going this far in the name of rituals,” he said. He also warned that criminals in Kogi State will not escape the scrutiny of the police and other security agencies.

Jeremiah Paul, who hails from Kaduna State, confessed that he had planned to use Damilola for a ritual after meeting her. The police are continuing their investigation and will soon arraign the suspects in court.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
