Instead, Governor Fubara voluntarily withdrew his appeal concerning the 2024 budget, which has already been executed.
According to Daily Post, Ugochinyere clarified that Fubara’s withdrawal was a strategic decision, as the budget cycle had ended, making further litigation unnecessary.
The Supreme Court, therefore, struck out the case rather than ruling against the governor.
He assured Rivers residents that Speaker Oko Jumbo remains in control of the State Assembly and urged the public to disregard misinformation spread by political opponents.
Ugochinyere criticized the pro-Wike faction, led by Martin Amaewhule, for celebrating a ruling they misunderstood.
He emphasized that the sacked lawmakers remain removed from office, and the 2025 budget is now in effect.
He also called on the media to ensure accurate reporting of legal matters and urged Governor Fubara to stay focused on delivering good governance despite ongoing political distractions.
