Former Presidential Aide Reno Omokri cautions against being extremely accessible to others in a recent tweet, arguing that it conveys a lack of self-respect rather than genuine compassion. He likens being overly accessible to undervaluing oneself, likening the spread of money to the ubiquitous nature of tissue paper, which reduces its perceived value. In order to cultivate scarcity, Omokri advises against feeling obligated to join every WhatsApp group or go to every party, as this could come out as neediness or inactivity. He wrote; ” Stop being too available to people. It is not kindness. It is a form of self-hatred. You become too familiar and make it impossible for those you throw yourself at to respect you. Even you, will you value money if it is as available as tissue paper? Get some scarcity. Every party you must attend. That is why people think you don’t have food in your house. Every WhatsApp group you must join and contribute that is why your friends think you are jobless. And because you appear jobless, they refuse to pick up your calls or respond to your texts because they think you want to beg them for money. Give people a chance to miss you, or they will diss you! The less people see of you, the more they revere you. Have you ever seen God? Yet, you revere Him more than any man! What did Paul say? “Imitate God”-Ephesians 5:1.”
