Speaking about the action taken against the PRO who called Sen. Monday Okpebholo “One Monday,” Edo CP

 

Following the attack on Senator Monday Okpebholo’s convoy in Benin, the Edo State Public Relations officer referred to Senator Okpebholo as “One Monday.” This incident was discussed by CP Funsho Adegboye, the Commissioner of Police for Edo State. The CP said that this behavior has been worrisome and unacceptable for the IGP and other senior police officials. He disclosed that the offending officer is the subject of proper disciplinary action. He said in an interview with Channels TV, ”We respect people no matter the class the person belong to. The PRO referred to the distinguished Senator as ‘One Monday’. It is not in our character to do that and the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun was disturbed and myself and other Senior members of the police were disturbed about this.

And I want to use this opportunity to correct that almost unpardonable error. The Senator is a serving and distinguished Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
