Sowore Responds After Oyo State Government Demolished The Building Of Yoruba Nation Agitators

Human rights advocate from Nigeria and 2023 AAC presidential candidate Mr. Omoyele Sowore responded to the Oyo State Government’s demolition of the Yoruba Nation agitators’ building, which was led by Gov. Seyi Makinde. CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>

In response to the event, Mr. Omoyele Sowore stated that he (Sowore) was perplexed as to where state governors got the authority to tear down people’s houses without justification simply because the residents were accused of engaging in unlawful or illicit activity.

Mr Omoyele Sowore made this disclosure in a post he made on his official X handle. He went on and described the decision of the Oyo State government as a wrong decision.

He wrote: “I still don’t understand where governors derive the powers that grant them the right to arbitrarily demolish people’s homes, because they allegedly engaged in illicit activities. This is just plain wrong.”

Recall that the Oyo State Government, on Wednesday, demolished the building where the Yoruba Nation agitators led by Modupe Onitiri-Abiola are operating from in Ibadan, the state capital.

Some masked persons, on Saturday morning invaded a Local Government Secretariat in Oyo State. Some of the invaders were reportedly arrested by the joint security personnel who were drafted to demobilise them. CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
