six languages Odumegwu-Ojukwu spoke fluently while he was alive, Josef Onoh reveals

General Yakubu Gowon’s assertion that he made amends with Ojukwu has been refuted by Dr. Josef Onoh, the brother-in-law of the late Biafra leader Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu. Onoh maintained that such a reconciliation did not exist. Additionally, he asserted that Gowon can attest to Ojukwu’s fluency in six languages during his lifetime.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>

According to The Vanguard, it was reported that he explained that the meeting Gowon referred to as a reconciliation was actually a condolence visit when Gowon came to pay respects after the death of his (Onoh’s) father, H.E. Chief C.C. Onoh, who was also Ojukwu’s father-in-law, in 2009.

Onoh specifically pointed out that Gowon’s story about reconciling with Ojukwu in London was inaccurate. He stated that he was present during the encounters between Gowon and Ojukwu, both in Enugu and London, and none of them were reconciliation meetings.

Onoh accused Gowon of confusing a condolence visit with reconciliation and claimed that Gowon’s version of events is misleading. He added that by telling such “lies,” Gowon might feel the need to continue creating false narratives to support his claims.

He said, “We all laughed and escorted him (Gowon) out. Ojukwu said a closing prayer in Latin at the amazement of everyone present including Gowon. We admired the two men that their actions shaped Nigeria.

Ojukwu was fluent in Hausa, French, Yoruba, English, Latin and Ibo and in every way his image and oratory dominated the moment, hence I understand the reason why Gen. Yakubu Gowon is attempting to change history by giving a wrong narrative of events.”

Further talking, he said, “He, Gowon, have always suffered an extreme high level of inferiority complex around Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu and even in death he’s unable to rise above that shackles of inferiority, which was still manifest in his condolence message and Tribute to Ikemba Odumegwu-Ojukwu.”CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
