Shehu Sani, a former senator, hinted that the situation may be linked to a significant development regarding the Kano emirship, particularly involving Emir Muhammadu Sanusi’s plans to appoint a district head for Bichi town.
Sani, in a post on social media, called for restraint in handling the issue, emphasizing the importance of peace and caution in the application of force.

This incident follows a series of disputes surrounding the Kano emirship. In May, former Emir Aminu Ado Bayero was dethroned by Governor Abba Yusuf during a period when Bayero was away.
The former emir was replaced by Muhammadu Sanusi II, who was quickly relocated to the Kofar Kudu palace.
