Shehu Sani Responds After Army Chief, Lagbaja Dismissed The Report That Army Is Planning Coup D'etat

While reacting, Senator Shehu Sani made it known that the Nigerian Army through the Chief of Army Staff, has reassured Nigerians that they will not intervene to wreck down our democracy. He went on and described the assurance as pleasing, urging those instigating, encouraging and provoking the military to stop and seek forgiveness from God.

Senator Shehu Sani made this disclosure in a post he made on his official X handle on Thursday morning.

Senator Shehu Sani wrote: “The Nigerian Army through the Chief of Army Staff has again reassured that they will not intervene to wreck down our democracy. That is pleasing. Those of you instigating, encouraging and provoking them should please stop and seek forgiveness from God. We are a Plantain and not a Banana or Coconut republic please.”

Recall that the Chief of Army Staff, Maj. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, on Tuesday, dismissed the report that the Nigerian Army is planning to take over the government of the country, stating it clearly that the personnel of his service had accepted the democratic system of government in place in the country.
