Senator Yahaya Abdullahi of Lakurawa reveals the source of violent infiltrators

According to Senator Yahaya Abdullahi, who represents Kebbi North, the violent organization known as “Lakurawa” enters Nigeria across the Nigeria-Niger border and is based in Burkina Faso and Mali.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>

Speaking on the Senate floor, Abdullahi, who raised the issue under Order 42 of the Senate Rules, urged the Federal Government to take urgent action against the group, which has been wreaking havoc in parts of Kebbi and Sokoto States.

In a motion co-sponsored by Senators Adamu Aliero and Garba Maidoki, Abdullahi described the group as a major threat, noting their advanced weaponry and international connections.

He highlighted a recent attack on November 8 in which Lakurawa terrorists killed over 20 people in Mera village, Kebbi State, and looted livestock worth millions of naira.

According to Daily Post, the motion emphasizes the need for decisive action to prevent the spread of these terrorists to other parts of the country.

 

 

Former Sokoto State Governor, Senator Aminu Tambuwal, corroborated the threat, recalling how his administration successfully countered the group in 2018 but expressed concern over their resurgence.

The Senate President acknowledged the prompt response by the Nigerian military to the November 8 attacks, urging continued efforts to address the growing threat.
