Hon. Robinson Ewoh, a former legislator from Rivers State, recently made alarming claims against Nyesom Wike, the incumbent Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), during an appearance on Symfoni TV. According to Ewoh, during Wike’s eight years as governor, he embezzled more than two trillion naira, saying, “It’s about money. If you look at Wike’s life, it’s all about money. What he gets out of the system.”
The remarks made by the former lawmaker cast serious doubt on Wike’s financial policies during his tenure in office. Apart from the accusations of embezzlement, Ewoh asserted that Wike pilfered state funds, turning over roughly half of government assets for his own use.
“For his eight years as governor, he converted 50% of Rivers State Government properties to his personal properties,” Ewoh declared, implying that Wike used his position of political authority to enrich himself at the cost of public funds.
