Samuel Nwanosike, the former chairman of Ikwerre Local Government Area, made important claims about Rivers State governance and budgetary processes in a recent interview with TVC. According to Nwanosike, Governor Sim Fubara was directed by Speaker of the Pro-Wike Legislators Martins Amaewhule to stop all spending on June 31st in accordance with constitutional obligations, which signified the expiration of the budget.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>

Nwanosike stressed the urgency of the matter, explaining that any funds spent from July 1st onwards are deemed illegal. He urged Governor Fubara to take immediate corrective action by presenting a legitimate budget to the 10th House of Assembly, led by Speaker Amaewhule. This step, according to Nwanosike, is essential for ensuring proper governance and the welfare of the people of Rivers State.

“There is no contest anywhere, Martins Amaewhule is the speaker. And Amaewhule said that he (Fubara) should have stopped spending Rivers State money since June 31st. Because the budget lifespan as expected by the constitution ends on the 31st of June.
