“This event means so much to me because I fall in the category of the dependents of fallen heroes,” Governor Fubara said. He explained that the annual remembrance event has always brought comfort to his family. “Every January, when my mother goes to that event, she comes back smiling. I know that.”

He emphasized the need for everyone to contribute to the fund, which supports the families of fallen soldiers. According to him, while no amount of support can ever replace the loss of loved ones, efforts to assist surviving family members can help ease their burdens.

Governor Fubara called on the people of Rivers State to make the upcoming January event special by donating generously. “We cannot do enough, no matter what we do. The losses are there, and those spaces cannot be filled. But the only thing we can do is to cushion the effect,” he said.

The event serves as a reminder of the sacrifices made by military officers and the collective responsibility to support their loved ones.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
