In his candid interview, Obi emphasized the need for a thorough examination of opposition politics in Nigeria. “Well, you know, I want us to sit down one of these days and have a proper conversation about the opposition—how it can be effective,” he stated.

The former Anambra State governor criticized the current democratic framework, asserting that “democracy in Nigeria is faulty; it wasn’t designed to support the opposition.”

Speaking about his personal experiences, Obi revealed the toll of his political journey on himself and his family. “Oppositions here are actually in difficult positions. If I tell you what I face, what I go through, and what my family goes through, you wouldn’t even believe it,” he disclosed. He added, “It’s surprising I’m still standing and going around this country.”

Despite these formidable challenges, Obi expressed his unwavering commitment to his political path. “But I’ve made up my mind: if this is the end for me, so be it,” he declared, demonstrating his determination to continue despite the obstacles.
