Addressing the ongoing conflict in Rivers State, Nyesom Wike listed the different factions he feels are responsible for the tensions. He said that Atiku, Peter Obi, and several PDP governors are connected to certain factions. In a live coverage by Symfoni TV, Wike claimed that Peter Obi’s supporters had made strong efforts to gain his backing during the presidential election, but he refused. He further explained that within the PDP, there is another faction of governors eyeing the presidency, who view him as an obstacle.
In addition to the PDP factions, said that even some members of the APC are involved in the political battles. However, he asserted that they would all ultimately fail in their efforts against him.
