Pastor W.F. Kumuyi, General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, said during a recent sermon how he first rejected marriage as a result of seeing his parents’ turbulent relationship.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>

Drawing from Romans 12:2, “And be not conformed to this world,” Pastor Kumuyi emphasized the importance of transformation through God’s grace. He recounted his childhood experiences, growing up in a home where frequent conflicts between his parents left a lasting impression. Despite being active in church activities, the discord at home made him question the sanctity of marriage.

“My father spoke and my mother spoke back, and she knew that he was going to fight her. And I said if marriage was like this, I was not going to marry,” Kumuyi recalled. The constant strife convinced him that marriage was not for him.

The situation worsened when his father took additional wives, leading Kumuyi to confront the disparity between his religious teachings and his father’s actions. However, he lacked the courage at that time to challenge his father’s polygamy. “I didn’t have the courage to tell my father that that was not the right way they taught us in the Bible,” he admitted.

Kumuyi’s perspective changed dramatically after he became genuinely born again. Empowered by his newfound faith, he resolved to adhere strictly to biblical principles, despite his father’s resistance. “I made up my mind that I was not going to follow the way of the world,” he asserted, highlighting his commitment to a godly life.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
