Oshiomhole: You Cannot Aspire To Take Over If You Have Been Involved In Transactions With State Govt

 

The Senator representing Edo North Senatorial District, Adams Oshiomhole speaking on the PDP Candidate, Asue Ighodalo has asserted that individuals deeply involved in business transactions with a state government cannot credibly aspire to take over leadership of governance in Edo State.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>

He criticized the PDP candidate for accepting Certificates of Deposit (CODs) from Edo taxpayers money through his bank, questioning how such actions could be reconciled with public service integrity. He dismissed claims of business success attributed to Asue Ighodalo. He argued that if Ighodalo was genuinely successful in his business, he should remain in the business sector.

He said in a live coverage by Arise TV, ”You cannot aspire to take over if you have been deeply involved in business transaction with a state government. The PDP candidate collected CODs from the Edo tax payers in his bank, how does he reconcile that? The civil service has been destroyed and the civil servants have been replaced with consultants.

Public service is not about consultancy. Let nobody tell us that he (Asue Ighodalo) is a successful business man. If you are successful, then remain in your business. And you must show us that your business and you must tell us the number of workers that you have employed.”CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
