Oshiomhole said that if not for Ighodalo and Obaseki he Wouldn’t have improved Edo IGR–According to Prince Odigie

Arise News recently had an interview with Prince Emmanuel Odigie, a prominent figure in the All Progressives Congress (APC), who disclosed an unexpected revelation about the 2016 government of former Edo State Governor Adams Oshiomhole. Odigie revealed that Oshiomhole attributed the accomplishments of his government to the economic team headed by Godwin Obaseki and Asue Ighodalo, including the expansion of Edo State’s internally generated revenue (IGR) and infrastructural development.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>

Oshiomhole reportedly acknowledged that the state’s success in increasing IGR from ₦600 million to ₦3 billion monthly, along with key projects like road construction and school building, would not have been possible without the contributions of Obaseki and Ighodalo. Obaseki, as the chairman of the economic team, and Ighodalo, as an active member, were instrumental in providing the blueprint that guided these achievements, according to Oshiomhole’s earlier statements.

These revelations have sparked curiosity and raised questions about the current political dynamics in Edo State. Oshiomhole’s past admiration for Obaseki and Ighodalo appears to be at odds with his recent political stance, particularly regarding his relationship with Obaseki and his position in the governorship elections. The sharp contrast between Oshiomhole’s previous praise for the duo and his current actions has drawn attention from political observers.

Prince Emmanuel Odigie emphasized that Oshiomhole had once made it clear that Obaseki’s leadership was crucial to continuing the progress made under his administration. This belief in Obaseki’s abilities was so strong that Oshiomhole backed him to succeed as governor, citing the need for continuity in the state’s development efforts. At the time, Oshiomhole’s endorsement of Obaseki was seen as a logical step, given the role Obaseki and his team had played in driving economic growth and infrastructure projects.

However, Odigie’s comments now highlight the complexities of political alliances and the shifting nature of support within the APC. Oshiomhole’s earlier stance contrasts sharply with his more recent political moves, leading to speculation about the reasons behind the change. The revelation has prompted discussions about the motivations and relationships at play within Edo State’s political landscape.

He said, “Oshiomhole told us in 2016, that if not for Asue Ighodalo and Godwin Obaseki’s Economic team and the Blueprint they gave him(Obaseki was the Chairman, Asue was a member, a very active Member) that there’s no way he would have able to grow Edo IGR from 600million to 3 billion monthly and if not for them, he wouldn’t have been able to build roads, school and pay salaries and that’s why he needed Godwin Obaseki to be Governor and we believed him”.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
