Onanuga may be earning ₦500,000 per month, but how many of his relations earn that much - According to Ndubuaku

The leader of the NLC, Professor Theophilus Ndubuaku, criticized President Tinubu’s spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, in a recent interview with Arise News for saying that the minimum wage strike is driven by politics. Ndubuaku stated that considering the extreme poverty that affects 133 million Nigerians, Onanuga’s claim is absurd and unconnected to reality.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>

He challenged Onanuga to consider how many of his own relatives and dependents earn a living wage, and to educate himself on the global multidimensional poverty line.

The Organized Labour has temporarily suspended the strike for five days for further negotiations with the government. Ndubuaku emphasized that the strike is about workers’ welfare, not politics.

In his words;

“Onanuga does not have a different market from you and I. I’m not sure, well maybe Onanuga will be earning more than N500,000 and something thousand a month, but ask him, how many of his relations, how many of his dependants who have a family of four are earning that much. So let him go and get facts about what the global multidimensional poverty line is. So it’s not just a question of propaganda”

“133 million people below poverty line. How many are we, So let Onanuga tell the world that we’re playing Politics with 133 million population of Nigeria. It’s Politics, is it?
